Scalability is an important concern in Software Engineering education.
We know that the methods we teach
scale up because they are scaled-down versions of methods in industrial use now:
-
Our work products are based on the those used in the Software
Cost Reduction project led by Parnas [4].
-
Our notations and inspection methods are based on those
used in the Cleanroom method pioneered by Mills
[5].
-
Our methods for system testing follow standard practice in industry.
Because automated module testing is not a standard industrial practice,
our approach to module testing is novel.
Nonetheless, it has seen industrial application
[6].
