2 April 2026:

The submit deadline of your final course project is 17:00, 10 April 2025, Friday.

How to submit your project:
First, compress all files (source code files, makefile, report (pdf, docx, md or txt), SQL statement files, diagrams, etc.) you want to submit for your project into a .zip (preferred) or .tar file.
Then, enter the following (case sensitive) command on any of cub machines to submit:
~liuh/bin/submit 370 Project .

The submit script currently accepts .zip and .tar files. If your file has other extension names, please let me know before submission.

Please choose the format of your files (especially your report) so that they are easily human readable once they are unzipped.

2 April 2026:

Our last assignment, Assignment A has been posted. The submit deadline of AA is 8:00am, 10 April 2026, Friday.

27 March 2026:

Assignment 9 has been posted. The submit deadline of A9 is 8:00am, 3 April 2026, Friday.

8 March 2026:

Assignment 7 and Assignment 8 have been posted. The submit deadline of A7 is 8:00am, 20 March 2026, Friday, and the submit deadline of A8 is 8:00am, 27 March 2026, Friday.

Please note the different submit method with these two database application assignments from the sumbit method of previous assignments.

12 February 2026:

Assignment 5 and Assignment 6 have been posted. The submit deadline of A5 is 8:00am, 27 February 2026, Friday, and the submit deadline of A6 is 8:00am, 6 March 2026, Friday.

Both A5 and A6 are due after our midterm, which will take place from 10:00 to 11:20 in Building 210/Room 105, on February 26th, 2026, Thursday. But they are good practice for the midterm.

Welcome to CSCI 370, Database Management Systems.

Our first lecture starts at 10:00, Tuesday, 6 January 2026. The first lab will be held on
10:30 - 11:30, Tuesday, 13 January 2026 for Section S26N01, and
13:30 - 14:30, Thursday, 15 January 2026 for Section S26N02.

It is important for everyone who wants to remain in this class, regardless you are registered or waitlisted currently, to attend the first lecture due to VIU's No-Show policy. It is important for everyone registered to attend all lectures and labs anyway.
